Centrica plc invites applications for a Debt Strategy and Performance Analyst. Working within the End-to-End Debt Strategy & Performance team, you will turn complex data into actionable insights and help optimise debt outcomes across UK operations, including direct debit performance, recoveries, and operational metrics.

Working as part of the End-to-End Debt Strategy & Performance team you will play a key role in shaping debt performance across British Gas Business. Using data-driven insight, you'll help monitor, analyse and optimise debt outcomes, supporting everything from debt prevention and cash collection to operational efficiency and commercial performance.
As a Debt Strategy and Performance Analyst, you'll turn complex data into actionable recommendations, identifying trends, risks and opportunities that drive better business decisions and deliver sustainable reductions in the cost of debt. You'll measure the impact of strategic initiatives, track recovery performance, and help improve customer payment behaviours and bad debt outcomes. This is a varied role with opportunities to develop expertise across areas such as Direct Debit performance, debt prevention, operational and third-party recovery performance, workflow management and debt operations, depending on business priorities and demand.

Performance Insights and Analytical Investigations Monitor end-to-end debt performance across assigned areas of responsibility; identifying trends, risks and opportunities across debt, recoveries & business initiatives Produce and maintain regular reporting and management information packs Track performance against goals, forecasts and business cases Analyse operational and commercial performance drivers to identify root causes and improvement opportunities Identify opportunities to increase operational efficiency and customer outcomes. Translate complex data into meaningful insights with actionable recommendations. Strategy and Optimisation Support the development and impact assessment of debt strategies, business cases and treatment approaches Provide evidence-based recommendations to support strategic decision making. Model potential performance impacts of proposed changes and initiatives Support the implementation of initiatives, defining processes, testing and tangible KPIs to monitor success Assess the effectiveness of Business Initiatives deployed, measuring performance and ensuring expected outcomes & benefits are achieved Identify opportunities for process simplification and efficiency improvement Insight, Governance and Reporting Develop and maintain reporting suites, dashboards and KPIs frameworks to monitor performance. Produce meaningful management information that supports decision making and prioritisation. Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner Assist in ensuring recovery activities are delivered in line with business policies and governance requirements. Maintain documentation relating to initiatives, assumptions, methodologies and benefits tracking Identify risks, control weaknesses and compliance concerns, escalating where appropriate.
Strong analytical experience within debt management, collections, finance, commercial performance or operational performance environments. Experience analysing large data sets and translating insight into actionable recommendations. Experience identifying and delivering performance improvement opportunities Strong numerical, problem solving and detailed root cause analysis - identify opportunities for performance improvement. Experience supporting business change and benefits realisation activities. Experience developing reporting, dashboards and KPI frameworks. Commercial awareness with the ability to balance customer outcomes and business performance. Advanced analytical capability using SQL, Power BI, Fabric, Databricks, SAS or similar tools. Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
