HB Public Law is an innovative and ambitious shared legal service operated by and based in the London Borough of Harrow and providing legal support to the London Boroughs of Harrow, Barnet and Hounslow, together with Slough Borough Council.
HB Public Law are looking to recruit a Lawyer or Senior Debt Recovery Lawyer to join their highly regarded Housing and Civil Litigation Team and focus on debt recovery work, principally adult social care debts and residential service charges. This includes evaluating claims, negotiating with debtors or their estates, drafting pre-action protocol letters, drafting pleadings, dealing with debt recovery proceedings and advising on enforcement options and insolvency issues.
We welcome applications from lawyers experienced in debt recovery work, as well as newly qualified lawyers wishing to work in this area.

The Debt Recovery Lawyer will manage their own caseload and provide practical, solution-focused advice to our clients on debt recovery claims and enforcement of the same. They will work closely with officers and senior management across the client authorities and will have opportunities to undertake advocacy where appropriate.
Depending on experience, the Debt Recovery Lawyer will also support and mentor junior colleagues, contribute to training initiatives and help develop best practice across the team.
The team undertakes a wide range of housing and civil litigation work, which the Disrepair Lawyer may also be required to support with on occasion.
