The business is underpinned by a highly entrepreneurial and dynamic group of individuals with backgrounds in private equity, private debt, investment banks and M&A advisory. Our core expertise is in the Energy sector, and we use that expertise to invest across the capital structure and across all energy transition technologies in order to accelerate the transition to Net Zero. The team accomplishes this through a range of financial structures, including debt and equity investments, and we are responsible for overseeing the long‑term performance of those assets post‑investment.

Role Purpose

The Debt Portfolio Manager plays a critical role in protecting investor capital and supporting strong, sustainable returns across Triple Point’s Energy Transition portfolio. The role is responsible for the day-to-day management of a diverse portfolio of private market debt across different technologies in the renewables sector and will be required to perform high-quality financial analysis, portfolio monitoring, and proactive risk management.

The role includes responsibility for delivering reporting requirements of the portfolio to internal stakeholders and working closely with the Finance, Legal and Operations teams to oversee performance monitoring and reporting.

This role embodies Triple Point’s High-Performance Culture, combining technical excellence with ownership, curiosity and collaboration and is a great opportunity for someone looking to progress their career with a team and employer committed to supporting the development of colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day management of an assigned portfolio, including relationship management, financial analysis, cashflow modelling, covenant testing and proactive risk identification.
  • Review management information, interrogate financial performance and monitor sector and adviser reports to ensure ongoing credit quality of the private debt portfolio and ensure timely reporting to senior management of any issues arising.
  • Analysing and tracking performance of loans against business plans, borrowing bases and financial key performance indicators (KPIs) ensuring that the lending portfolio is monitored in line with terms of funding and Group policy.
  • Review and approve, where necessary, requests (e.g. waiver letters) from borrowers, including obtaining the adequate internal approvals required for approving such requests on a timely manner.
  • Review transaction legal documentation to exercise appropriate governance at the portfolio, liaising with internal and external legal advisers as appropriate. Support the Portfolio Director in commercial negotiations and documentation processes.
  • Maintain regular, senior-level communication with borrowers, management teams, sponsors, and advisers to strengthen long-term relationships.
  • Prepare, review and present high-quality investment memos, quarterly portfolio reporting and Investment Committee materials, with clear analysis and recommendations.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on portfolio matters, building effective relationships and escalating complex issues with ownership.
  • Ensure execution is timely, commercially sound, risk-aligned and operationally smooth.

Skills and Experience

Required:

  • Extensive years of experience of managing a portfolio of loans in an active lending organisation, ideally in a portfolio function.
  • Experience of managing investment or loans in the Energy Transition sector, including construction stage assets.
  • Strong financial analysis capability with demonstrated ability to apply judgement beyond the numbers, balancing risk, structure and commercial context.
  • Strong organisation and project management, with ability to manage end-to-end process with internal and external parties.
  • High attention to detail, with full ownership of data quality, information accuracy, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Experience in portfolio management in either credit analysis or commercial management, with exposure to Investment Committee processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – presents ideas in a clear, concise and constructive manner.
