Job summary

SCVO's Money Matters program seeks an experienced Debt Adviser to help people regain financial stability with compassionate, person-centred support. You will work with individuals and families facing financial hardship, offering practical guidance and continuing support to improve wellbeing and security.

You will provide specialist debt advice, support budgeting, maximise income through welfare benefits, negotiate with creditors, maintain records and collaborate with partner organisations to

Qualifications

• Experience delivering debt advice to individuals or families.
• Ability to assess financial situations and provide tailored debt solutions.
• Knowledge of welfare benefits and budgeting strategies.

Responsibilities

• Providing debt advice and casework to clients.
• Supporting clients to access appropriate debt solutions.
• Negotiating with creditors and debt collection agencies.
• Maximising household income through welfare benefits and other support.
• Supporting budgeting and financial capability for clients.
• Undertaking benefit entitlement checks.
