Job summary

Emerald Group is seeking a technically strong actuarial professional to join the Savings & Retirement Deal Pricing team in London. The role focuses on delivering fees and premiums to clients across Pacific Life Re's global markets, with ownership of Tyche and Excel pricing models.

You will interpret macroeconomic assumptions and obtain investment data from Bloomberg and investment teams, building robust pricing tools and ensuring accurate outputs for pricing quotes.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified actuary (IFoA or SOA) required.
• Strong Excel and actuarial modelling skills.
• Knowledge of pricing processes and macroeconomic assumptions.

Responsibilities

• Own pricing tools (Tyche models and Excel) and upgrade as needed.
• Produce pricing quotes for clients in global markets.
• Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
• Interpret macroeconomic data (rates, spreads, FX) from Bloomberg and investment teams.
• Review model outputs and perform sense-checks at analyst level.
• Pricing transactions experience is beneficial but not required.

Exciting opportunity for an individual with strong technical actuarial / investment background to join the S&R Deal pricing team delivering on the team's responsibilities

Key Duties (Including but not limited to):

• The Savings & Retirement Deal Pricing team are responsible for producing the fees & premiums to send to clients in Pacific Life Re's global markets
• Take ownership of the existing pricing tools (Tyche models and Excel models). Being responsible for the process of producing pricing quotes and making any upgrades and changes to the tools as required
• Identify inefficiencies in pricing processes & controls and implement improvements to address these as part of the Company's drive for process enhancement
• Understanding of macroeconomic assumptions (interest rates, credit spreads, FX) impact on pricing. Being able to obtain and interpret required investment data from Bloomberg and from investment teams
• Fully qualified actuary and a member of the IFoA or SOA
• Strong technical skills necessary to build and run actuarial models, including pricing tools. Prior experience in Pricing is not necessarily required, but broad understanding of modelling mortality and/or market risks will be an advantage
• Experience of transactions and/or pricing work is beneficial but not essential
• Strong experience of Excel and actuarial modelling software (Tyche or similar)
• Ability to work independently on reviewing critically numbers coming out of the model, understanding what drives changes, sense-checking results (at the level appropriate for an analyst)
