Salary: £52,265 to £73,927 DOE (FTE) plus £312 Office at Home Allowance

About the Role

Barnardo's is embarking on an ambitious, long-term Digital, Data, and Technology (DDaT) strategy focused on automation, integration, and AI. As a key Integration and Application Engineer, you will be pivotal in building the technical foundations that will dramatically improve our digital efficiency and help us transform the lives of vulnerable children and young people across the UK.

This is a unique opportunity to use your deep expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) and Azure Integration Services to deliver solutions with a tangible, positive social impact.

The Mission: Integration, Automation, and Impact

Working as part of our core Applications team, you will be the technical force behind our system interoperability. Your work will directly support Barnardo's mission by:

  • Designing & Implementing Scalable Integrations: Build and manage custom APIs, webhooks, and Azure Integration Services (Logic Apps, Service Bus) to connect D365 F&O with critical 3rd party platforms.
  • Driving Automation: Lead the development of automation components and templates, significantly reducing delivery time and standardizing practices using CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps.
  • Pioneering AI & Low-Code: Apply your working knowledge of Microsoft CoPilot, CoPilot Studio, and Azure AI Foundry to explore and implement next-generation automation and efficiency tools.
  • Ensuring Resilience & Security: Maintain service availability within SLAs, enforcing security, authentication, and authorization standards using Azure AD, SSO, and RBAC.

Technical Expertise & Requirements - DDaT Integration & Application Engineer: Remote working / Home Based

We are seeking an expert with a strong background in enterprise application support and development, particularly within the Microsoft Ecosystem.

Essential Expertise:

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O: Strong operational support experience, including understanding of core workspaces (Sales, Purchase, General Ledger, HR) and D365 Data Management skills.
  • Azure Integration & DevOps: Expert knowledge of Azure Integration Services, and strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, Terraform, BICEP, and AzureCLI.
  • Microsoft Stack Mastery: Expert knowledge of the full Microsoft Stack, including Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, CoPilot), Azure (Data Lake, Synapse), and M365 (Office, SharePoint).
  • Integration Skills: Proven ability to design, build, and manage APIs and link external APIs (Azure AD Applications) to D365/M365.
  • Experience: Demonstrated success in a similar operational support role, linking technical delivery with strategic organizational goals.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and integration pipelines.
  • Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
