Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to lead the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of technical standards, system updates, reviews, and service solutions to support the performance of CBRE GWS EMEA Data Centre Solutions business. This role requires understanding and advancing the Critical Environment & Risk Management model and standards across the contract portfolio with the primary goal being to ensure the efficient and safe operation and maintenance of engineering systems to achieve 100% plant availability and uptime. The individual will positively contribute towards improving our technical capability, standards, and operational delivery on the contract and will play a vital role in supporting the vision and route towards engineering excellence.
Key Tasks
- Support the sites in the management of business-critical assets, with ownership of CERM processes.
- Support the sites in Capacity Management Reporting.
- Support the sites in Critical Spares Management.
- Contractor management – Critical.
- Act as a technical authority providing advice and assistance to maintenance teams as required.
- Root Cause Analysis.
- Projects/Operations interface.
- Oversee the development & implementation of EOP’s & SOP’s across all of the sites.
- Deliver Technical Needs Assessments, produce gap analysis reports & develop training plans.
- Oversee the management & delivery of Essential Maintenance Periods as specified in contract scope.
- Support the sites in the management of the Change Control documentation.
- Ensure that all maintenance is carried out in line with Client/CBRE Requirements.
- Assist in the creation of timely, meaningful reports as required in relation to productivity, equipment reliability/life expectancy, failure trends, improvements, recommendations.
- Support the sites in facilitating the implementation, adoption, and embedding of the Critical Environment & Risk Management (CERM) model processes into the day-to-day operation.
- Conduct regular emergency response simulations and ensure action plans are in place for all possible serious incidents across all of the sites.

Person Specification
Essential Skills
- Extensive experience at a technical management level within a high-technical environment.
- Extensive knowledge of data rooms, critical systems, and complex HV and LV systems.
- Numerically and computer literate, able to use MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint proficiently.
- Strong communication and influencing abilities, with high levels of personal integrity.
- Capable of influencing and driving change.
- Suitable recognized management qualification.
Essential Knowledge
- High level of competency and understanding of Critical Environment electrical infrastructures.
- Comprehensive understanding of HVAC systems and plant operations within Building Services and Critical Environments.
- Up-to-date technical knowledge of ACOP’s, fire and environmental control measures, building control requirements, High Voltage, 17th Edition, Refrigeration, and the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Full understanding of Statement of Work.
Desirable Experience
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience of working within Critical Environments.
- Minimum 5 years High Voltage switching experience.
- Recognized apprenticeship (or equivalent) in appropriate engineering discipline.
- 10 years experience of working within Critical Environments.

Circumstances
Some out of hours working will be required to facilitate the management of essential maintenance periods & specialist sub-contractor works.
Leadership & Service Competencies
- Inspire and provide directional leadership to multiple site-based multi-skilled maintenance teams, including sub-contractors within a designated portfolio of buildings, ensuring that teams deliver maintenance in accordance with building/asset requirements, compliance to safe working practices, quality standards conformity, and best practice methods.
- Able to represent CBRE effectively in meetings of both a commercial and technical nature.
- Act on adopted ideas/initiatives contributing to potential improvements to the delivered SLA’s, cost reduction, business improvement, etc.
