DBS Chefs & cooks all levels -Nottinghamshire

Location : Nottingham & Nottinghamshire

Environments : Schools Care & nursing homes retirement villages and nurseries

Contract type : Temporary ongoing

Hourly rate : £16p / h to £17p / h dependant on experience, job role, and environment

We are currently looking to recruit several Enhanced DBS Chefs and Cooks in and around Nottinghamshire, working within Care homes, retirement villages, schools & nurseries. You will be required to help and support with any sickness, short term and long term, both full time and Part time positions are available.

PLEASE NOTE : To be able to work within this environment you must have enhanced DBS covering adult, child or adult & child workforce, within the last 12 months or on the update service.

If you don't have a DBS, you must be willing to go through all the required checks with us to be provided with one. (This will be at a cost)

• Even though a lot of your roles will be on a temporary basis, these can quite easily lead to permanent work for the right candidates.

Main Duties

• Work within as part of a team
• Putting away stock and deliveries.
• Food orders, dependant on the role you are placed into i.e head chef / chef manager.
• Preparation of food
• Preparation of food including variety in diets which included texture diets, blended meals, and modified meals.
• Prepping / tidying areas of the kitchen including pot washing.
• Adhering to all relevant health and safety requirements
• Cooking nutritious food within requirements
• Ensure a clean as you go policy is being operated at all times
• Possibly serving food and / or operating a till

Requirements and skills

• Previous experience as a chef
• Flexibility in shift patterns including weekends
• Great communication and team work skills
• Level 2 food hygiene certificate dated within the last 3 years. (ideal but not essential as training is provided)
• Level 2 Health and Safety Certificate (ideal but not essential as training is provided)
• Passion for food
• Available to cover ad hoc last minute sickness requests for our clients this can be on the same day.
• Experience with the IDDSI framework to prepare and cook texture diets
• Ability to work under pressure
• Due to certain locations a full UK driving license is required along with own access to a vehicle
• A DBS (essential - as mentioned above)

Working Hours : You can choose your working rota each week, the working hours will vary from site to site and may result in more / less work depending on your flexibility. If you are working within schools or nurseries you shift times will be anything from 7 / 8am until 2 / 3pm. For any care homes or Nursing homes the times will be from 6 / 7am starts until around 4 / 5pm.

The working environment : Due to the various types of sites we cover your working environment will change from site to site and may result in more / less work depending on your flexibility. We will look to place you in the most comfortable environments for you. We supply to contract catering sites, Schools, Prisons, Care homes, hotels, and events etc.
