Job summary

Just Group is seeking an Actuarial Analyst for the Defined Benefit True Up Team in the UK, either in London or Reigate, with a hybrid working model. This role involves pricing and actuarial support for DB Data True Ups, requiring strong analytical skills and knowledge of actuarial principles.

Actuarial Analyst - Defined Benefit True Up Team

Location: London or Reigate (Hybrid - 50%)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 35 hours

The DB Actuarial Analyst will undertake pricing and actuarial input required to support delivery of DB Data True Ups and other tasks relating to in‑force business.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Head of True Up, DB Actuary and DB Senior Actuarial Analyst in the accurate and timely delivery of data true ups.
• Prepare internal sign‑off documentation produced for each quotation, ensuring results are presented in a clear manner, outlining all material areas of judgement and limitations.
• Prepare drafts of client deliverables / data true up letters to be issued externally.
• Carry out all necessary BAU work for in‑force business, including scheme valuations.
• Prepare scheme valuations and ensure they are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
• Prepare individual member calculations and ensure they are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
• Develop a deep knowledge of all systems and tools used by the True Up team.
• Proactively help to drive projects forward to ensure they are progressed in line with expected timescales.
• Promote a culture of collaboration and engagement within the True Up team.
• Leverage new technologies to drive innovation and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Actuarial or maths‑related degree desirable, and/or working towards FIA qualification with some relevant experience.
• Desire for an actuarial career.
• Understanding of actuarial principles and techniques.
• Familiarity with DB pension scheme benefits and regulation is desirable.
• Familiarity with life insurance principles and regulation is desirable.
• Good IT skills, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
