Job summary

Kinaxia Warrington is recruiting a Transport Operator (Days) to manage collections and deliveries from Warrington site. You will use IT systems to allocate drivers, vehicles, loads and back loads to optimise efficiency and cost-effectiveness, while maintaining service levels and regulatory compliance.

Key duties include supervising driver staffing, authorising weekly timesheets, tracking vehicle status, and communicating delays promptly to customers.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Highway Code and transport regulations.
• Experience coordinating loads, drivers and vehicles.
• Ability to manage driver hours and timesheets.
• Proactive communication with internal and external customers.
• Commitment to health and safety and housekeeping.
• Analytical problem-solving for logistics operations.

Responsibilities

• Allocate driver/vehicle/loads/back loads and trailers; communicate plans to internal/external customers to improve efficiency.
• Ensure sufficient driver staffing levels at all times, including agency staff.
• Manage driver hours by authorising timesheets weekly.
• Track status of drivers/vehicles to meet collections/deliveries and inform delays.
• Deploy service recovery actions when a delivery is at risk of failure.
• Communicate load sheets, handovers and delays to stakeholders for a smooth service.
• Work in a team and cross-train to provide cover.
• Identify and drive continuous improvements in the operation.
