Qualifications

Job description

We are looking for talented Care Assistants to join our growing team!

The home has good public transport links to Derby.

You will be caring for up to 50 elderly service users that suffer with age‑related illnesses such as Dementia and Alzheimer's.

Duties
  • Following personal care plans
  • Maintaining health and safety standards and complying with requirements of the home
  • General housekeeping and domestic duties
  • Reporting condition updates and recording fluid intakes
  • Helping patients remain as independent as possible and catering to their likes and dislikes
  • Assisting with daily living activities including morning and night‑time routines
  • Working alongside support workers and care workers to provide a complex care package tailored to individual needs
  • Toileting/bed bathing and strip washing the service users

Application Requirements
  • Have two employment references, one of which must be from a care home setting
  • Hold in‑date mandatory training certificates (inc. moving and handling, safeguarding vulnerable adults and infection control)
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate dated within the past 12 months or registered on the update service
  • Have a range of experience in the use of Hoists, Slings and Rotundas
  • Have a minimum of 6 months paid UK work experience working within a residential care home
  • Be fully vaccinated against Covid‑19

If you do not have a valid DBS and/or training, do not worry as we can help you with this. We are happy to offer online training available at a subsidised fee and the certificates are yours to keep!

This role offers immediate start, ongoing work opportunities.

Typical hours on Saturday and/or Sunday
  • 07:00 to 14:30
  • 14:30 to 22:00

You will be paid £12.21 per hour, increasing to £13.33 per hour after a settling in period, with further enhancements for unsociable hours!
