A leading packaging manufacturer in Northamptonshire is seeking a Days Maintenance Engineer to maintain production machinery. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of experience, be electrically and mechanically skilled, and possess NVQ or City Guilds qualifications. The role offers a salary of £48,000 plus overtime and various benefits including a group pension and 25 days holiday.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 5 years' experience outside of apprenticeship.
  • Must have worked with production & packaging machinery.
  • Must be able to conduct electrical and mechanical fault finding.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all reactive and scheduled maintenance on production machinery.
  • Work alongside shift engineers to manage breakdowns.
  • Ensure SAP system is up-to-date with relevant information.

Our client is a leading packaging manufacturer, part of a multi-billion-pound global group, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. Due to engineering departmental growth, they are looking for an experienced days maintenance engineer.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Maintain all reactive and schedule maintenance on production machinery
  • Working alongside and supported by shift engineers for breakdowns on production lines
  • Electrical & mechanical fault finding and repairs
  • Role has a big focus on reliability engineering, continuous & process improvements
  • Ensure the SAP system is kept up-to-date with relevant information
  • Ordering of spares & parts to budget, manage service contractors when they are on site
  • Scheduling and planning of all maintenance & PPM activities
  • Flag up anomalies on machinery & equipment, report reliability and asset care management
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Looking for a multi-skilled engineer - able to fault find electrically & mechanically
  • Must have worked with production & packaging machinery
  • At least 5 years experience outside of apprenticeship
  • Ideally have completed a formal apprenticeship scheme
  • NVQ or City Guilds qualified to level 3 or higher
  • Have a flexible approach to working hours, cover extra hours and different shifts if needed
  • Computer literate - able to use SAP systems
  • Experience of working on hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC's, control panels, gearboxes
  • Beneficial if able to do welding, fabrication and fitting work
  • Passionate about reliability engineering, continuous improvements, asset care management
