Job summary

A leading facilities management provider is seeking a Day shift building services maintenance technician in Cambridge. Responsibilities include executing planned preventative maintenance and responding to reactive maintenance tasks across electrical and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have a C&G/NVQ Level 3 in electrical/mechanical engineering and experience in commercial building services maintenance. Job description

I am working with an established, reputable FM service provider who are on the search for a Day shift building services maintenance technician to join a leading critical commercial maintenance team in Cambridge.

Key Responsibilities
  • PPM Execution: Execute scheduled Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) routines on both electrical and mechanical building services assets.

  • Reactive Maintenance: Provide efficient and rapid response to all general reactive maintenance tasks and emergency faults across the commercial site.

  • Perform routine checks and minor repairs on low-voltage power distribution, sockets, switches, and final circuit wiring.

  • Maintain and repair general lighting systems and conduct periodic checks on Emergency Lighting.

  • Carry out essential first-line maintenance and inspection on HVAC equipment (AHUs, FCUs), including filter changes and belt checks.

  • Conduct routine checks on heating systems, pumps, and water supplies, logging pressures and temperatures.

  • Fault Finding: Conduct basic fault finding and diagnostic checks across M&E systems to resolve minor issues and identify root causes for complex problems, escalating where necessary.

  • Documentation: Accurately record all PPM activities, reactive work, and system readings in the site logbooks and/or Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to site safety protocols and relevant industry regulations for all maintenance activities.

Requirements
  • C&G / NVQ Level 3 in electrical/mechanical engineering
  • 17th/18th edition (desirable)
  • C&G 2391 Testing & Inspection (desirable)
  • Proven expeirence in commercial building services maintenance (essential)
  • Critical site maintenance experience (hospital, data centre or similar (desirable)
