A leading appliance company in Luton is seeking a proactive Day Shift Supervisor to manage warehouse operations effectively. You will prepare delivery runs, monitor daily progress, and resolve any issues professionally. We’re looking for a proactive Day Shift Supervisor to keep our warehouse operations running smoothly and ensure every customer receives their appliance on time. You’ll take ownership of preparing delivery and installation runs each morning, monitoring progress throughout the day, and resolving any issues quickly and professionally.
This is a hands‑on role where you’ll support our self‑loading depot, ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and compliant, and provide ongoing assistance to our Drivers, Quality, and People teams.
Salary: £27,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift Pattern:5 on 3 off, 5 on 2 off (4am-1pm)
Contract: Full‑time, Permanent
Location: Park Avenue Industrial Estate, Park Avenue, Luton, Bedfordshire LU3 3BP
Prepare and oversee daily delivery and installation runs to ensure timely dispatch.
Monitor operations throughout the day, resolving issues promptly to maintain service standards.
Check all vehicles leaving the depot for security, legality, and compliance with transport legislation.
Complete daily in‑house reports for the Depot Manager.
Support and guide drivers, handling queries professionally and efficiently.
Conduct alcohol testing when required and ensure compliance with company policies.
Manage transhipping and reloads to keep operations flowing smoothly.
Debrief vehicles returning from delivery and installation runs, addressing any issues or damages.
Strong understanding of transport legislation and logistics operations.
Ability to build positive relationships under pressure and maintain professionalism.
Confident decision‑making skills when the Depot Manager is unavailable.
Quick problem‑solving ability and adaptability to changing situations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
