Job summary

NTT is seeking a highly experienced Data Solutions Architect to lead the design and delivery of modern big data platforms in the UK. You will guide data modernization journeys, architect streaming data and lakehouse solutions, and collaborate with executives and technical teams to align data strategies with business goals.

The role requires deep expertise across data products, governance, and security, with hands-on experience in Spark, Kafka, Databricks, and cloud ecosystems.

Qualifications

• This role is pivotal in enabling clients to harness the power of streaming data, data lakes, lakehouses, and advanced analytics platforms, while guiding them on their data modernization journeys
• As a trusted advisor, you will collaborate with executives, stakeholders, and technical teams to define modern big data strategies, design cloud-native architectures, and implement industry-leading best practices

Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing modern big data architectures for large enterprisesHands-on experience across the data lifecycle: ingestion, storage, transformation, governance, analytics, and consumptionProven experience leading data modernisation initiatives across multiple sectorsDeep understanding of data product strategies, Data Mesh, and Data Fabric conceptsExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to align data strategies with business objectives, driving measurable valueStrong consulting values with the ability to engage effectively with senior client stakeholdersExposure to machine learning and AI integration within modern data platformsProficiency with big data technologies: Apache Spark, Kafka, Confluent, Databricks, Unity CatalogStrong knowledge of cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)Experience with SQL, NoSQL, ETL/ELT pipelines, and programming languages (Python, R, Java)Hands-on expertise with data lake/lakehouse architectures and modern streaming solutionsFamiliarity with BI, data visualisation, and DevOps principlesStrong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA)Preferred: BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related fieldEducation: University degree requiredRelevant certifications in Databricks, Kafka, or cloud platforms highly desirableExperience: Minimum 8–12 years in data architecture, engineering, or consulting, with at least 4+ years in modern big data solution architecture
