Position Overview

Due to recent expansion of business and exposure we need more member in our work team who can help the company effectively to generate more revenue. As part of our business expansion plan we are looking for a highly organised and proactive Database Administrator & Web Content Technician to oversee daily operations within our busy hospitality environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing IT and website tasks, oversee social media platforms, supervising other staff, and ensuring smooth communication across departments. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong leadership skills and a background ecommerce and business website to contribute to the efficiency and success of our organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, maintain, and optimise database systems to ensure data integrity, availability, and security.
  • Perform regular database backups, restore operations, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Monitor database performance and implement improvements, including indexing, query optimization, and other performance tuning methods.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and company policies, implementing necessary security protocols.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth operation.
  • Oversee the creation, editing, and publishing of digital content across the company’s websites and intranet.
  • Implement SEO strategies to improve the visibility and search engine ranking of web content.
  • Collaborate with marketing, design, and IT teams to ensure digital content is aligned with brand guidelines and business objectives.
  • Manage content updates and ensure that all digital platforms are up-to-date, user-friendly, and accessible.
  • Analyse website and content performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Administer the company’s intranet, ensuring it is a reliable resource for internal communication and collaboration.
  • Coordinate with various departments to gather and update relevant content on the intranet.
  • Provide training and support to employees on using the intranet effectively.
  • Create and upload content in our various social medial accounts such as Face Book, Instagram and TikTok.
  • Monitor and moderate user-generated content on the company’s websites to ensure it meets community guidelines and standards.
  • Respond to user inquiries and issues related to content submission, website functionality, and account management.
  • Analyse user engagement and website traffic data to inform content moderation strategies and improve user experience.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in database administration and digital content management.
  • Proficiency in SQL, MySQL, or similar database management systems.
  • Experience with Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal) and Web Development (HTML/CSS).
  • Strong understanding of SEO, web analytics, and digital content strategy.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
