Job summary

Raymond James UK is seeking a Data Engineer to join our data platform team. You will design, build, and optimize ETL pipelines using SSIS and T-SQL, contributing to a unified data warehouse across multiple systems. This role emphasizes data quality, performance, and scalable data ingestion.

You will collaborate with analysts, SMEs, and stakeholders to deliver robust data solutions, with a strong emphasis on documentation and best practices in data warehousing.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in operational data teams.
• Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on data warehouse and ETL design and delivery.
• Strong SSIS and SQL Server development background.
• Deep knowledge of T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, and query optimisation.
• Experience scripting within SSIS (PowerShell, C#, Python).
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to data quality.

Responsibilities

• Map source systems, refine data models, and design SSIS packages and database schemas.
• Redevelop and uplift ETL pipelines into a unified warehouse.
• Write and optimise T-SQL scripts, procedures, and transformations.
• Ensure warehouse stability, scalability for growing data volumes.
• Validate ETL accuracy, troubleshoot data quality issues.
• Maintain clear, future-proof technical documentation.
• Collaborate with analysts, developers, SMEs and stakeholders.
