Job summary

DBD International seeks a Data Engineer to build and maintain data pipelines, models and transformations powering reporting, analytics and integration across a complex delivery programme. You will work hands-on with SQL and cloud data platforms, ensuring data is structured, accessible and usable by the wider business.

Qualifications

  • Around 3-5 years' experience in a data-related role (data engineering, data modelling, analytics engineering).
  • Strong competence in SQL, plus at least one scripting or data query language (Python).
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (Azure, AWS, Fabric, Snowflake, Databricks or equivalent).
  • Experience building or supporting data pipelines, transformations or models used in reporting, analytics or applications.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Experience in a regulated or safety-critical industry (energy, aerospace, nuclear, defence) is desirable but not essential.

  • Writing and optimising SQL to query, transform and structure data across platforms.
  • Designing and implementing data pipelines and transformations on cloud-based data platforms.
  • Collaborating with data architects, analysts and digital teams to ensure data usability.
  • Supporting data quality, security and classification standards as data moves across systems.
  • Documenting data lineage, structures and transformation logic for traceability.
  • Gathering requirements from stakeholders and translating them into data structures and pipeline components.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of data processes, guidance and documentation.
