Job summary

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) Officer on a zero-hours bank basis. The role focuses on processing DSARs accurately, securely and within statutory timescales, reviewing large volumes of documents, redacting third-party information, and seeking expert advice when required.

Excellent IT skills, attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously are essential, with real flexibility to take on ad-hoc requests as they arise.

Responsibilities

  • Process Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) accurately and securely within statutory timescales.
  • Review large volumes of complex documentation and identify personal data and third‑party information for redaction.
  • Advise and liaise with the People Partner - Policy & Transformation as required, and handle ad-hoc requests in a flexible, bank-role capacity.

Job description

Are you highly organised, detail-focused and confident with handling sensitive information? If so, this could be an exciting opportunity to join us as a Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) Officer. This is a zero-hours bank role, offering genuine flexibility and ad-hoc work, ideal if you would like to choose when you work and be able to say yes or no as requests arise. If this sounds like the opportunity you've been looking for, wed love to hear from you!, You will work closely with our People Partner - Policy & Transformation and play a key role in ensuring DSARs are processed accurately, securely and within statutory timescales. You'll manage a varied workload, reviewing and analysing large volumes of complex documentation, emails and attachments to identify personal data. You'll also identify third-party information and apply appropriate redactions before information is disclosed, seeking expert advice when required., For further information about the role, please see attached job description and person specification. You’ll need excellent attention to detail and accuracy, strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands and deadlines. Advanced IT skills, including confidence navigating systems such as Excel, Word and Adobe, are essential, alongside excellent written and verbal communication skills. You’ll also need to work autonomously, use your initiative and be comfortable focusing for prolonged periods when reviewing detailed information. Knowledge and understanding of data protection and confidentiality is essential.
