Morson Edge (Financial Services) is recruiting a Data Mapping Specialist to own the source-to-target mappings across multiple source systems for a new unified data platform. You will document transformation rules, translate business requirements into clear data and technical specs, and collaborate with business stakeholders, BAs, data architects and engineers to ensure data quality remains intact.

I'm working with a leading Pensions and Investment Management organisation that is building a new unified data platform. It will bring data from a number of source systems into one place, and the quality of the data it provides depends on getting the mapping and transformation right from day one.

They need a Data Mapping Specialist to own that work. This isn't about moving data from A to B. They want someone who will challenge the data when something doesn't look right, understand the context behind it, and make sure every assumption and transformation decision is properly captured.

The Role

You'll define and own the source-to-target mappings across multiple source systems, document the transformation rules behind them, and turn business requirements into clear, detailed data and technical requirements. You'll work day to day with the business, technical BAs, data architects and engineers, and keep a close eye on data quality, reconciliation, lineage and dependencies so nothing gets lost or misread along the way.

Key Skills Required

• Strong data analysis and hands-on source-to-target mapping experience
• Experience defining and documenting data transformation rules
• Able to translate business requirements into detailed data and technical requirements
• Good understanding of data quality, reconciliation, lineage and dependencies
• Experience working with complex datasets and multiple source systems
• Comfortable working closely with business stakeholders, technical BAs, data architects and engineers
• Real attention to detail, particularly on the accuracy and completeness of mapping and transformation rules
• Confidence to challenge when something doesn't look right

Nice to Have

• Experience in investment management, pensions or a similar financial services environment
• Exposure to modern data platforms
