Job Title: Data Solutions Architect

Location: Bristol or London

Salary: £70,929 + DOE

Hours: Full time

Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of your time, at our Bristol or London office.

About This Opportunity:

We’re looking for an innovative Data Solution Architect to join our Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) division. You’ll be part of a dynamic team driving transformation through cloud-native data solutions that improve customer engagement and deliver meaningful insights. Working alongside platform architects, data product owners and engineering teams, you’ll play a key role in defining the technical direction of our data strategy.

At Lloyds Banking Group, we’re committed to building a more inclusive and sustainable future. This role offers the opportunity to work on pioneering projects using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies, while mentoring others and contributing to a culture of learning and growth. If you’re excited by the challenge of architecting scalable, secure and reusable data products that make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Architect and deliver cloud-native data solutions on GCP to support systems of insight and engagement
  • Own the migration of legacy platforms (Teradata, SQL Server) to GCP-native tooling
  • Design and implement reusable data products for analytics, reporting and client engagement
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into technical architecture and delivery roadmaps
  • Define and implement data governance standards including metadata management and access controls
  • Support DevOps practices using tools like Terraform, GitLab and Cloud Build

Why Lloyds Banking Group:

Like the modern Britain we serve, we're evolving. Investing billions in our people, data, and tech to transform the way we meet the ever-changing needs of our 26 million customers. We're growing with purpose. Join us on our journey and you will too.

What you’ll need:

  • Confirmed experience as a Data Solution Architect with hands-on expertise in GCP and/or Azure
  • Strong proficiency in GCP services including BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer and Looker
  • Experience migrating data from legacy platforms to cloud-native environments
  • Expertise in data modelling, pipeline development and real-time data streaming
  • Familiarity with event-driven architecture, API integration and microservices
  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and GitLab

We offer reasonable workplace adjustments for colleagues with disabilities, including flexibility in office attendance, location and working patterns. And, as a Disability Confident Leader, we guarantee interviews for a fair and proportionate number of applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role with a disability, long-term health or neurodivergent condition through the Disability Confident Scheme.

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%
  • An annual performance-related bonus
  • Share schemes including free shares
  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping
  • 30 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top
  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all qualified candidates. We are committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve.
