Job summary

Sky is seeking a GenAI-focused data science professional to join the AI delivery team. You will work across engineering, product and domain experts to shape Sky's use of data science and large language models to unlock value across the business.

The role emphasizes experimentation, evaluation, and collaboration to deploy AI-driven solutions in a customer-centric way. Hybrid work with two days in the office per week is offered.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) with specialization in Statistics, Data Science, ML, Physics, Mathematics, OR Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience developing solutions with Large Language Models.
• Hands-on Python with ML libraries and frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop Generative AI and agentic solutions, including RAG apps and conversational agents.
• Design experiments and evaluation frameworks for AI/ML approaches.
• Analyze datasets, traces and performance to improve AI solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, product and commercial teams to deploy AI-driven solutions.
• Drive experimentation and continuous learning across data science teams.

Whatyou’lldo

• Develop Generative AI and agentic solutions, including RAG applications, conversational assistants, intelligent workflows and tool-using agents.
• Design and run experiments to test andvalidateAI/ML approaches,includingLLM evaluation frameworks.
• Analyse in-depth datasets, traces and system performance to continuously improve AI solutions.
• Collaborate across engineering, product, and commercial teams totakeAI-driven solutions from ideation through deployment.
• Strengthen our internal data science capabilities by continuously driving experimentation,innovation,and continuous learning.

Whatyou’llbring

Essential criteria:

• Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) with specialization in Statistics, Data Science, Machine Learning, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering or another quantitative field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Hands-on experiencedevelopingsolutions with Large Language Models.
• Hands-on experience building applied ML models using Python and relevant libraries and frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn,XGBoost, PyTorch).

Desirableskills andexperience:

• Experience designing evaluationframeworksfor generative systems(e.g.,LLM-as-a-judge, task-specific metrics).
• Experience with vector databases,data queryinglanguages and retrieval methods.
• Experience with AI monitoring, observability, guardrails, testing and responsible AI practices.
• A commercial mindset, you understand how data science drives value, not just insight.
