Job summary

C3 AI, Inc. in the United Kingdom is seeking a senior machine learning researcher to lead the research, design, implementation, and deployment of ML algorithms, intelligent agents, and optimization solutions for enterprise applications using the C3 AI Suite.

You will help customers build their own applications on the C3 AI Suite, contribute to feature design, and analyze model performance across asset fleets, tuning hyperparameters for scalable environments including defense-related programs in

Salary: £65,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of common machine learning techniques, their applications, limitations, and methods for adapting them to achieve results at scale.
• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, or an equivalent field.
• Applied AI experience, including generative AI, agentic solutions, regression and classification, and supervised and unsupervised learning.
• Strong mathematical background in linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics.
• Experience with scalable machine learning, such as MapReduce or streaming.
• Ability to drive projects and work independently as well as in a team.
• Motivation, initiative, and a desire to make a difference.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Preferred: Experience with JavaScript and prototyping languages such as Python and R; Java and Scala experience is a plus.
• Preferred: A portfolio of projects, such as GitHub projects or papers.
• Must hold, or be able to obtain and maintain, the required UK Security Clearance ([SC / NATO]). Eligibility is set by the contracting authority and typically requires at least five years of continuous UK residence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the research, design, implementation, and deployment of machine learning algorithms, intelligent agents, and optimization solutions for enterprise applications using the C3 AI Suite.
• Help our customers build their own applications on the C3 AI Suite.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new C3 AI Suite features.
• Analyze model performance across asset fleets, diagnose issues such as low risk scores or false positives, and recommend hyperparameter adjustments.
• Work with data and subject matter experts from our teams and customer teams to find, understand, validate, interpret, and correctly use new data elements.
• Work with data scientists, software engineers, and subject matter experts to define analytics capabilities that support customer decision-making and digital transformation.
• Identify suitable machine learning algorithms and implement them on the C3 AI Platform so they can run at scale.
