Job summary

Saragossa is seeking a Data Scientist on a 6-month contract (inside IR35) to join our investment management team in London. You will apply advanced modelling techniques to support multiple mandates and drive commercial outcomes.

You will work with modern data stack, including Snowflake, Databricks and dbt, collaborating with Data Engineering. A regulated data environment background and a bias toward business metrics are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience with recommendation engines and behavioural or events data.
• Proficiency in churn modelling and predicting future behaviours.
• Familiarity with affinity scoring and business metrics alignment.
• Experience with regulated data environments.
• Snowflake, Databricks and data warehousing experience.
• Understanding of dbt and collaboration with Data Engineering teams.

Data Scientist - Contract (inside IR35) - Investment Management - 6 month intial

A leading investment manager are seeking a data scientist to come in and support the wider team on a number of mandates.

You will ideal have experience / exposure to:

• Recommendation Engines - effective suggestions based on behavioural or events data
• Churn Modelling - identifying patterns in lost client business
• Affinity Scoring - measuring strength of alignment in preferences, behaviours, and needs between similar individuals or organisations
• Predictive Modelling - assessing the likelihood of future behaviours/needs based on past patterns of actions (including validating these models and monitoring them for drift once in production)
• Commercial outcomes focus (models should be optimised with business metrics rather than academic ones in mind)
• Experience with Snowflake/Databricks/Data Warehousing tools
• Understanding of dbt and working closely with Data Engineering teams
• Experience in regulated data environments

Nice to have:

• Record Linkage or Entity Resolution (people and organisation focus)
• Knowledge and interest in business data and financially literate

You are required in the office 3 days a week in London.
