Job summary

Flint Bishop is recruiting a Data Scientist for its Derby, UK team. The role focuses on data analytics, creating and maintaining ML models, and improving contact strategies within the Debt Recovery department.

You will work with internal and external stakeholders to optimise operations and deliver continuous improvements. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in analytics, strong Python/SQL skills, and experience in credit risk or debt recovery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in an analytical role.
• Experience identifying performance trends and creating ML models to support operational contact strategies.
• Proficient in Python, SQL and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication skills able to present to non-technical audiences.
• Problem solving abilities and strong time management across multiple projects.
• Desirable: a bachelor’s degree in a numeric subject or equivalent.
• Experience in credit risk/debt recovery industry.
• Experience with Python and/or R; Liberate Disclosure knowledge may be required if offered.

Key Responsibilities

• Champion Data accuracy and Quality, utilising external 3rd party relationships to enhance our portfolios

• Lead and manage Champion/Challenger strategies, to elevate performance on existing contact strategies

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• 5+ Years' experience in a previous analytical role
• Experience in identifying performance trends and creating ML models to support operational contact strategies
• Be proficient in Python, SQL and Microsoft Excel
• Have great interpersonal skills and be able to communicate your ideas to a wider audience
• Be a good problem solver
• Have strong time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects at once
• Desirable: A bachelor's degree in a numeric subject (Mathematics, Statistics, etc.) or equivalent
• Experience working within credit risk/debt recovery industry
• Working knowledge of Python and/or R
