Job summary

Aviva is hiring a Data Scientist to join our Insurance, Wealth and Retirement Analytics Team. You will build and maintain predictive models and ensure insights are understood and used across business units. The role involves working with one of the world’s richest insurance datasets to deliver real-world improvements.

Location options include Norwich, Bristol or York with a starting salary around £33k. You’ll join a friendly analytics community and have opportunities to grow your data science

Qualifications

  • Strong numerical skills and a degree or equivalent experience in maths, statistics, computer science or a similar field.
  • Confident coding skills in Python, R, SQL or Spark.
  • Experience using modern analytics platforms such as Dataiku or Snowflake.
  • Ability to explain technical ideas clearly and work with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience across the full data science workflow: defining the problem, preparing data, building models and deploying solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain predictive models to support data-led decisions across Aviva.
  • Explain technical insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the business to ensure insights are understood and used.

You’ll join our Insurance, Wealth and Retirement Analytics Team — a friendly group shaping how we use data across Aviva.
