Job summary

MI5 and MI6 offer a three-year Data Science Apprenticeship in London or Manchester, where you’ll rotate through engineering, AI and ML projects, building models and turning data into actionable insights. You’ll learn from seasoned data scientists and gain hands-on experience solving national security challenges.

You’ll study toward a degree in a relevant field with a 36-hour week, including 20% study time, blending online and in-person teaching to balance work and academics.

Qualifications

• 120 UCAS tariff points by August 2027.
• GCSE English Language and Maths at grade 4/C or above.
• No Level 4+ qualification in Data Science/AI/CS at start; opportunities in other MI5/MI6 apprenticeships available.

Responsibilities

• Develop models and systems to counter threats; rotate through teams.
• Learn from data scientists, AI specialists, and ML professionals.
• Turn data into insights; communicate findings to stakeholders.
