Leading media business has recently launched a premium digital intelligence platform and is looking to hire a talented Data Researcher. The role involves gathering data and information relating to UK social housing, extracting financial data from annual financial accounts in PDF format, inputting it into the database, validating the data, and researching other financial and non-financial information using internet research and the organisation’s network of contacts.

Salary: £35,000 – £42,000 plus excellent benefits.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Researching, identifying, and inputting key data sets for publication on the web platform
  • Finding specified data from annual accounts and inputting into data systems
  • Overseeing and cross‑checking data entered by colleagues
  • Gathering key documents and sources, primarily financial statements
  • Forging and maintaining relationships with contacts at key data suppliers/partners, such as regulators and government departments
  • Assisting with gathering and planning new datasets as the product evolves
  • Offering guidance to the researcher
  • Supporting the data editor in developing best practice and ways of working
Key Skills
  • Computer literate and highly numerate
  • Microsoft Office: Word and strong Excel skills (formulas, graphs, etc.)
  • Highly accurate data input, especially from accounts
  • Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat
  • Excellent writing skills, particularly about financial subjects
