Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Data Protection Manager to provide second-line oversight of data protection risks and processing activities across the organisation. Based in a regional hub with hybrid working, you will challenge risk assessments and assess control effectiveness, contributing to a trusted data protection framework.

Qualifications

• Strong, up-to-date knowledge of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, PECR and regulatory expectations
• Broad practical experience across a range of Data Protection areas beyond routine processing
• Experience delivering independent oversight, assurance or compliance monitoring in a second-line, risk or regulatory environment

Responsibilities

• Provide independent oversight and challenge across a broad range of Data Protection risks and processing activities
• Review high-risk impact assessments and assess whether risks are identified, managed and mitigated
• Produce concise reports and opinions for senior leaders and governance committees to support decision making
