Job summary

Stewarts in London seeks an experienced data protection lawyer or privacy professional to join its Compliance team, advising on UK GDPR, data protection, AI governance and risk management within a leading law firm.

You will support the Data Protection Officer, manage data incidents and DPIAs, maintain records, oversee supplier privacy reviews and training, and provide pragmatic guidance across systems and projects.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer or privacy professional with governance experience.
• Experience owning a data protection programme at managerial level.
• Experience handling data breaches and subject rights requests.
• Familiarity with AI governance and related regulatory issues.
• Understanding confidentiality and professional conduct in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Support the DPO in delivering the firm’s data protection framework.
• Maintain records and registers, policies, notices and procedures.
• Manage data breaches, incidents and risk assessments.
• Provide training and guidance on data protection and AI governance.
• Review contracts for data processing and sharing and advise on transfers.
