Our Data division transforms satellite data into meaningful insights that drive real-world impact. The team delivers all data products generated by Open Cosmos and its partners, curates and develops DataCosmos — our geospatial data platform — and builds integrations that make satellite imagery easy to access and act on. Their work helps organisations turn data into action and create positive change on Earth.

As a Data Processing Technical Project Manager, you will sit at the intersection of technical execution and project delivery, acting as the central coordination point between Delivery Project Managers and technical teams.

You will be responsible for enabling high-quality data processing deliverables and products, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, while applying robust software engineering processes and best practices.

Responsibilities

What will you be doing?

  • Managing the development of data processing deliverables for external customer projects within the Data Division

  • Managing the development of data processing products for internal use and platform evolution

  • Coordinating project execution with Delivery Project Managers and Technical Team Leaders

  • Ensuring alignment across teams, resolving conflicts, and maintaining focus on business objectives

  • Contributing to the definition and application of appropriate software engineering methodologies, processes, and practices

  • Ensuring the quality, consistency, and reliability of all deliverables produced by the team

  • Defining and enforcing delivery methodologies that support predictable, high-quality outcomes

  • Acting as a primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and Delivery Project Managers

  • Communicating technical concepts clearly and effectively to non-technical stakeholders

Qualifications

What You’ll bring

  • Understanding of Earth observation systems and image processing fundamentals

  • Understanding of customer and business objectives and how these translate into technical and delivery requirements

  • Knowledge of project management principles, including planning, scheduling, risk management, and delivery control

  • Knowledge of supplier and subcontractor management concepts, including governance, cost, and quality oversight

  • Knowledge of software engineering principles, development lifecycles, and best practices

  • Customer-centric approach, focused on delivering value and positive outcomes

  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership for delivery commitments

  • Proactive mindset, anticipating challenges and acting early

  • Clear, effective communication and relationship-building across technical and non-technical stakeholders
