Job summary

Parkingeye is seeking a Data Privacy Paralegal to join the Privacy team. You will assist with data protection compliance, manage subject rights requests and keep internal DP documents up to date, working closely with the Legal and Privacy team.

Reporting to the Data Privacy Specialist, the role offers practical experience in data privacy and training delivery within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Basic working knowledge of the UK GDPR, EU GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
• Prior experience working in a data protection environment, e.g., legal department, business risk department, security in private or public sector, ideal but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data protection compliance within the business under GC guidance.
• Organise and administer DP training to the business, as directed.
• Review and respond to data subject rights requests, including gathering information and escalating where needed.
• Assist in assessing internal and external data requests and providing responses where appropriate.
• Maintain internal guidance documents for DP processes (e.g., SARs).
• Assist in inductions for new starters.
• Other duties commensurate with the role.

OVERVIEW

Parkingeye are looking for a Data Privacy Paralegal to join their Privacy team. Reporting to the Data Privacy Specialist, you’ll help manage subject rights requests and keep key internal documents up to date so the business can meet its data protection obligations. The work is a good opportunity to build practical experience in data privacy and work closely with colleagues in the Legal and Privacy team.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working with the General Counsel and other members of the Privacy team to assist with data protection compliance within the business.
• In conjunction with the other members of the Privacy team, to organise and administer DP training to the business, as directed.
• To review and deal with data subject rights requests received into the business, including responding to obtain further information, as required, collating responses, and escalating where applicable.
• To assist with assessing both internal and external requests for data and providing responses where appropriate.
• To maintain internal guidance documents for all DP related processes, such as SARs and other Data Subject rights.
• To assist in the provision of inductions for new starters.
• Any other duties/responsibilities reasonably required that are commensurate with the role.

FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS

• High degree of IT literacy, with experience of using Microsoft Office.
