Job summary

Taylor Root is seeking a mid-level to senior associate to join its esteemed Data, Privacy & Cyber team in the UK. You will work with multinational corporates, technology businesses, major consumer brands and startups on complex privacy matters.

You will advise on GDPR, DSARs, DPIAs, international transfers and data breach responses, while mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to team success in a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with data, privacy and cyber focus.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK and EU data protection laws.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills.
• Commercially minded with a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
• Confident managing client relationships and taking ownership of matters.
• Collaborative team player who mentors junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Advise on GDPR and UK data protection compliance across varied clients.
• Handle Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and data rights issues.
• Draft data processing agreements, vendor onboarding, and DPIAs.
• Assist with international data transfers, SCCs and transfer risk assessments.
• Manage data breach responses, cyber incidents, and regulatory investigations.
• Contribute to AI governance programmes and privacy-by-design initiatives.
