Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build and operate data pipelines on a modern Lakehouse and AI data platform in London. You will contribute to ingestion, transformation, modelling and data quality, delivering reliable datasets for analytics and AI use cases.

Ideal candidates have strong Python or Java, SQL skills, experience with Spark, Kafka and Snowflake, and are comfortable with CI/CD and platform tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong hands-on programming in Python or Java.
• Good working knowledge of SQL, including troubleshooting and data analysis.
• Ability to learn new tools, platforms and delivery workflows quickly.
• Familiarity with version control, testing, release discipline and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Build, test and support data pipelines on the Lakehouse and AI data platform.
• Improve reliability, performance and maintainability of data flows.
• Develop reusable tooling to improve delivery and operational support.
• Ensure production-readiness and strong data quality across pipelines.
