Job summary

Dex is hiring its first dedicated Data Engineer to bootstrap a new internal data platform from scratch. You will design foundations, select tools, and establish governance and quality patterns while delivering high-impact data products that demonstrate the platform’s value.

You will own the roadmap, partnering with Product, Finance, and Operations to surface data-enabled insights and empower non-technical teams to access data effectively.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or backend roles with a heavy data focus.
• Fluency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python or Scala).
• Hands-on experience building ETL/ELT pipelines with a modern data stack.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement the foundational data platform, including architecture, tooling, and best practices for modelling, cataloguing, governance, and quality.
• Build end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines, connecting fragmented data sources into a reliable, queryable layer for Product, Finance, and Operations.
• Partner with the Infrastructure team on cloud, networking, and security for all data workloads.
• Develop self-serve tooling and data products that empower non-technical teams to access and utilise data effectively.
• Identify and deliver the first high-impact data use cases to demonstrate the value of the new data platform.
