The Nottingham Building Society is building a new Data Platform on Microsoft Fabric and Azure. We are seeking a Data Engineer to help design, implement and operate scalable, secure data solutions that power regulatory reporting, analytics and AI initiatives.

Join a collaborative team at our Head Office in Nottingham, with hybrid working (minimum 2 days on site). You will work across data ingestion, lakehouse architectures and data governance while delivering high-quality data assets for

Qualifications

• Microsoft Fabric expertise with OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, Spark and Power BI.
• Strong in SQL, Python and PySpark for scalable data solutions.
• Experience building or operating cloud-based data platforms, especially in Azure.
• Knowledge of data modelling, ELT/ETL design, Delta Lake and data quality.
• Cloud and DevOps capability with Azure, automation, CI/CD and IaC.

Responsibilities

• Build a scalable, secure data platform using Microsoft Fabric, Azure and Power BI.
• Create and maintain robust ingestion and transformation pipelines.
• Design Lakehouse, Warehouse and Delta Lake architectures.
• Deliver analytics-ready data assets for self-service BI and reporting.
• Develop automated deployment pipelines, CI/CD using Azure DevOps and Git.
• Implement data quality controls, governance, lineage and security.
• Monitor performance and optimize for observability and resilience.
• Collaborate with Data Architects, Analysts and stakeholders.
