Job summary

Belinda Roberts Ltd in the Bury area is recruiting two Metering Data Operatives to support meter records, readings collection and data updates. Training will be provided, and there is room to develop within the role for the right candidate.

You should enjoy solving problems, be comfortable with Excel, and able to manage a busy workload while meeting deadlines. A team-oriented approach is valued and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• No specific industry experience required; full training provided.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Comfortable handling data and basic Excel tasks.

Responsibilities

• Keep meter records up to date for meters fitted, swapped or removed.
• Chase and collect meter readings from customers and engineers.
• Investigate and resolve issues when readings are rejected or details mismatch.
• Assign the correct metering company to each customer site.
• Coordinate with metering companies for smart and automatic devices.
• Update systems using data files from the energy industry.
• Answer metering questions from customers and colleagues.
• Prepare simple Excel reports.

My client is a fast-growing services provider based in the Bury area. As a result of growth, they are seeking 2 Metering Data Operatives.

Reporting to the department manager this role offers an opportunity for 2 people with a technical mind, a natural problem solver who enjoys investigating, working with data and getting to the bottom of issues.

You do not need industry experience as full training will bb offered.

Duties Of The Role Will Include

• Keeping our meter records up to date when meters (including smart and automatic meters) are fitted, swapped or removed
• Chasing and collecting meter readings from customers, engineers and meter reading companies
• Looking into and fixing problems when a meter reading is rejected or meter details don’t match
• Making sure the right metering company is assigned to each of our customers’ sites
• Arranging with metering companies for smart and automatic meter devices to be fitted, removed or reconnected
• Updating our systems using data files we receive from the energy industry
• Answering metering questions from customers and colleagues in our Sales and Operations teams
• Putting together simple reports in Excel

The Right Candidate Will Be

• Confident speaking to people on the phone and writing clear emails
• Organized, with a good eye for detail
• Comfortable using a computer, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook (a basic level is fine, training is offered)
• Happy managing a busy workload and working to deadlines
• Enjoys solving problems and isn’t afraid to ask questions
• A team player who’s willing to pitch in

The right candidate will have come from, customer service, admin, data entry, a contact centre, billing, or any role were getting the details right matters.
