Job summary

Financial Times is seeking a Principal Programme Manager to lead complex, strategic technology programmes supporting data modernisation and technology transformation. You'll mentor Delivery Managers and promote delivery excellence across Product & Technology, working with cross-functional teams, senior stakeholders and partners.

You will tailor Agile, Lean, and hybrid approaches, manage governance and risks, and report to senior leadership while fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large-scale transformation programmes in technology or digital environments.
• Proven delivery of enterprise-wide programmes with multi-workstream teams and third-party partners.
• Strong budgeting experience with measurable business value delivery.
• Outstanding stakeholder management, including Board-level engagement.
• Ability to tailor Agile, Lean, traditional and hybrid delivery methods to context.
• Experience with data modernisation and enterprise technology initiatives.
• Experience in media, publishing or technology-led organisations.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, multi-year technology and business transformation programmes from inception to delivery.
• Develop and maintain governance, manage risks, dependencies and timelines.
• Collaborate with Product, Technology, Data and business stakeholders on outcomes.
• Coordinate with third-party suppliers and ensure delivery alignment with objectives.
• Tailor delivery approaches to suit programme and team needs.
• Drive excellence by improving delivery frameworks and portfolio practices.
• Coach and mentor Delivery Managers to build capability across the portfolio.
• Present updates and recommendations to senior leadership and executives.
• Foster an inclusive culture and cross-functional partnership.
