Job summary

Baillie Gifford is seeking a Data Management Operations Analyst to deliver a reliable market data service, ensuring data accuracy and governance. You will handle end-to-end data requests, support change initiatives, and produce operational reporting while promoting best practices across the firm.

You will build knowledge across data domains, work with stakeholders to meet requirements, and contribute to data foundations programmes, with training and coaching provided.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Power Apps and Power BI preferred.
• Proactive and detail-oriented with focus on data delivery.
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage day-to-day data operations.
• Experience with data governance and data foundations programmes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate, timely data across pricing, static data, instruments, companies, index data, income, and reference data.
• Manage data requests and mailbox queries through to resolution.

The Data Management Operations Analyst delivers a reliable, high-quality market data management service, ensuring data is accurate, timely, well-governed, and fit for purpose. The role supports internal stakeholders by managing data requests end-to-end, contributing to data-related change initiatives when allocated, applying governance controls, producing operational reporting, and promoting good data practices across the firm. The Analyst is expected to build knowledge across multiple data domains over time, supported by training, coaching, and on-the-job experience.

Responsibilities

BAU Service Delivery

• Deliver accurate, timely, and complete data across supported data domains, including pricing, static data, instruments, companies, index data, income, and reference data
• Manage data requests and mailbox queries through to resolution
• Perform data quality checks, reconciliations, and validations in line with procedures and controls

Governance & Control

• Apply data governance and risk policies as defined by internal frameworks
• Maintain audit evidence and operational records
• Identify and escalation data quality issues, risks, or control breaches

Project & Change Support

• Contribute to project and change initiatives when allocated
• Support analysis, requirements clarification, testing, and UAT
• Assist with documentation and knowledge transfer as changes transition into BAU
• Produce operational reporting and management information
• Promote good data practices through day-to-day interactions

Decision Authority

• Executes tasks within documented procedures
• Escalates issues outside agreed tolerances

What success looks like:

• Delivering a reliable, high-quality market data service that is accurate, timely, complete and aligned to the needs of internal stakeholders and the wider business.
• Building trusted relationships across the firm, working collaboratively with stakeholders and colleagues to understand requirements, resolve issues and support effective use of data.
• Applying governance, controls and operational processes consistently to maintain data quality, manage risk and ensure issues are identified and escalated appropriately.
• Driving continuous improvement by identifying better ways of working, contributing to change initiatives and developing knowledge across market data domains to strengthen the capability and effectiveness of the wider team.

Your knowledge and experience:

• Knowledge of Power Apps and Power BI (Preferred).
