This is a newly created position offering an exceptional opportunity to shape and strengthen S&G Minds approach to data, insight, and organisational learning. As our Data & Insights Officer, you will play a pivotal role in building high standards across our systems, ensuring that accurate, reliable information supports the delivery, improvement, and strategic development of our mental health services.
You will lead the coordination, analysis, and interpretation of data from across the organisation, developing clear reporting, visualisation, and insight products that help colleagues make informed decisions. The role also plays an important part in safeguarding data protection and strengthening our governance practices, working closely with our Data Protection Officer to ensure compliance and accountability.

The Data & Insights Officer will lead the development of strong, reliable data practices across S&G Mind. The role focuses on improving the quality, consistency, and security of our information, ensuring that data is accurate, well-governed, and used effectively to support decision-making.
You will coordinate how data flows through our systems, strengthen processes that support accuracy and compliance, and help colleagues use information confidently in their work. A key part of the role is transforming raw data into clear insight producing dashboards, reports, and visualisations that highlight trends, risks, and opportunities across our services.
You will also support our data protection responsibilities, helping to ensure that the organisation meets its legal obligations and maintains high standards of confidentiality and accountability. Working closely with teams across Swindon and Gloucestershire, you will contribute to continuous improvement, digital development, and the integration of systems that support efficient and evidence-based service delivery.

As a newly established position within S&G Mind, this role offers a significant opportunity to shape and strengthen the organisations data environment from the ground up. The postholder will play a central part in embedding high standards, developing coherent systems, and ensuring that data-informed insight drives meaningful service impact.
The Data & Insights Officer ensures the accuracy, quality, and integrity of S&G Minds internal data and transforms that information into meaningful insight to guide sound organisational decision-making. The role safeguards compliance with data protection legislation, strengthens data governance practices, and ensures that internal systems support efficient, accountable, and evidence-based service delivery.
The postholder leads on the coordination, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of data from internal systems. They will champion consistent, secure, and reliable data processes that align with S&G Minds quality, assurance, and compliance frameworks.
Working across teams, they will promote strong data literacy, enabling staff to use information confidently for evaluation, service improvement, strategic planning, and regulatory compliance. The role also supports management of data protection responsibilities, including subject access requests (SARs), rights requests, and cooperation with the Data Protection Officer (DPO).
The postholder must maintain an informed understanding of national data standards relevant to mental health services, including the Mental Health Services Data Set (MHSDS), ensuring that internal practice remains aligned with emerging best practice.
