Role Description

The Data & Insights Manager plays a critical role in driving data-driven decision-making across Scope Ophthalmology and Retail business units. This role is responsible for generating insights from diverse data sources to inform sales strategy, optimise resource allocation, and improve sales force effectiveness. The Data & Insights manager will oversee the CRM system, lead forecasting and performance tracking, and partner cross-functionally with marketing, IT, sales, and commercial teams to support product launches, targeting strategies, and competitive positioning within the NHS ophthalmology market and the UK Retail / OTC space. Reporting to Head of Sales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate robust, data-driven insights that align with Scope Ophthalmology and Retail business strategies and support evidence-based commercial decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain a continuous feedback loop by providing leadership with timely and relevant insights to influence sales strategy and execution.
  • Take ownership of CRM system upgrades, data integrity, and output quality, ensuring optimal utilisation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, IT, and other departments to drive integrated omnichannel activities and leverage data for targeted campaigns.
  • Support cross-functional teams by delivering insights that inform product launch planning, customer segmentation, targeting strategies, campaign effectiveness, and sales force deployment.
  • Conduct in-depth competitor analysis to identify market opportunities, threats, and benchmark sales performance.
  • Lead and coordinate forecasting processes and sales performance tracking to monitor progress against targets and inform corrective actions.
  • Manage key account data related to MPSC (Medicines Procurement and Supply Chain), NHS Contracts, and Dispensing Doctors to ensure accurate reporting and strategic planning.
  • Design, create, and manage dynamic dashboards and reporting tools to provide clear visualisations of sales performance, market trends, and customer insights.
  • Demonstrate strong engagement behaviours, maintaining clear communication, transparency, and collaborative relationships across teams and business units.
  • Contribute actively to cross-functional initiatives, ensuring that data and insights are integrated into broader business planning and decision-making.
  • Gain value adding actionable insights from various OTC data sources that will shape Brand, Education and Field strategy. Sources: Iquvia, Circana Insights, LiquidGo, Euromonitor and many other platforms.
  • Support Retail National Account teams in preparation for Range reviews & strategic top to top meetings with key retailers.
  • Demonstrate Scope’s values and engagement behaviours in all interactions, maintaining a professional, ethical, and customer-focused approach.
Qualifications
  • Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or related field.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience in data analysis, insights generation, and CRM management within pharmaceutical, healthcare, OTC, or similar commercial environments.
  • Strong proficiency with CRM platforms (preferably Salesforce or similar), data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with forecasting methodologies and sales performance measurement.
  • Solid understanding of the NHS, contract management, and healthcare data landscape is highly desirable.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for both commercial and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing at all levels.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive, analytical thinker with a problem-solving mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Experience in ophthalmology, optometry or related therapeutic area is a plus.
