Job summary

Canonical is hiring a Software Engineer for Data Infrastructure focused on OpenSearch/Elasticsearch. The role is London-on-site and involves building enterprise automation for data platforms, collaborating with an internationally distributed team, and contributing to open-source communities.

You will write Python, work on data stores, and participate in cloud/on-prem solutions. Travel for internal and external events is required; remote work considerations apply for global teams.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience in software development using Python
• Bachelor’s or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar degree
• Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events

Responsibilities

• Collaborate proactively with an internationally distributed team
• Write high-quality, idiomatic Python code to create new features
• Debug issues and interact with upstream communities publicly
• Work with helpful and talented engineers including experts in a diverse set of fields
• Travel 2 to 4 weeks per year for internal and external events
