Job summary

Jet2.com And Jet2Holidays is seeking a Data Governance Manager to lead the enterprise data governance framework and domain modelling across the analytics function. You will own governance frameworks, data catalogue maturation with Alation, and data risk mitigation, engaging stakeholders at all levels from C-suite to data owners.

This fixed-term 12-month contract covers maternity leave. The role emphasises collaboration, data privacy alignment with the DPO, and shaping AI-assisted governance

Job Description:

We're looking for a new Data Governance Manager to join our team. This is a genuine opportunity to make your mark — not just to hold the fort, but to drive meaningful progress on one of our most strategically important programmes.

You’ll be the operational lead for Enterprise Data Governance & Domain Modelling across our Data Engineering & Analytics function — a shared service that underpins the entire enterprise data ecosystem: You’ll own:

• The delivery of governance frameworks
• Data catalogue maturation
• Data Risk mitigation
• Stakeholder engagement at all levels of the organisation

This is a role with real breadth: from engaging C-suite executive sponsors to hands‑on management of Alation as our enterprise data catalogue, from championing AI‑assisted automation in governance workflows to partnering with the DPO on data privacy compliance. What you’ll be doing:

Reporting to our Data Governance & Quality General Manager, in this role your key responsibilities will be assisting in the rollout of an enterprise-wide data governance framework, with a key focus on one the following areas:

Enterprise Data Governance & Domain Modelling:

• Owning and continuously refine the enterprise data domain model for analytics, ensuring clear accountability across business areas.
• Facilitate cross-functional agreement on common data definitions, critical KPIs, business glossary content, and data quality and retention rules.
• Manage and evolve Alation as the enterprise data catalogue — the definitive discovery tool for data products, lineage, terminology, and ownership.

Analytical Model Design:

• Ensure that Data Governance is represented in our pre-delivery analytical design squads that design analytical data models (inc. Conceptual and Logical) meet any requirements set out in our data standards inc. Data Access rules, Naming conventions & metric definitions, quality rules and data retention schedules.

Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnering:

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with executive sponsors and data owners across all business units.
• Champion the adoption of newly released data products by ensuring they are correctly catalogued and understood at point of release.
• Communicate governance outcomes, progress, and risk to senior audiences with clarity and confidence.

What you’ll have:

• Proven experience in an enterprise data governance management or leadership role, particularly in an analytics environment.
• Experience managing a data catalogue platform (Alation or equivalent) at an enterprise scale, including business glossary management, data lineage and metadata standards
• A proactive, forward-looking mindset with genuine interest in AI and automation.

Ideally, you'll also have:

• Hands‑on experience with Alation and/or SODA specifically.
• Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, and dbt.
• Experience in aviation, travel, or a similarly complex, multi‑brand enterprise environment.
• Comfortable working in Agile and iterative delivery environments.
