Overview

The Compleat Food Group is seeking a Data Governance Manager to lead the development and management of the Group’s master data strategy, ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and enabling better business decisions. This role is hybrid with travel to sites as required and offers a salary of £40,000 – £45,000 per annum plus car allowance. This is a permanent position.

Role

As our Data Governance Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in enabling data-driven decision-making and building a culture of data stewardship across the Group. You’ll lead a team responsible for creating, maintaining, and enriching master data, while ensuring data integrity across our ERP and business systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and deliver the Group’s master data strategy.
  • Maintain and manage master data across our ERP system and associated tools.
  • Implement robust processes for the addition, maintenance, and retirement of master data.
  • Define and deliver to agreed SLAs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to establish clear ownership and accountability for data validation.
  • Ensure the integrity and quality of data used for Business Intelligence and reporting.
  • Lead and develop a team of Business Data Stewards.
  • Identify business data requirements, driving standardisation and reducing complexity, risk, and cost.
  • Own and develop internal data management and enrichment tools.
  • Design and maintain data governance policies, procedures, and standards aligned with business goals and regulations (including GDPR).
  • Travel between sites, with occasional overnight stays, as required.
About You

You’ll be an experienced data professional with a passion for data quality, governance, and continuous improvement. You’ll combine strategic thinking with hands-on capability and strong leadership skills.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a data management role.
  • Strong business analysis skills and experience managing master data in business systems.
  • Excellent leadership and people management abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills – able to work effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience within the FMCG sector (preferred).
  • A solid understanding of cross-functional business processes and data dependencies.
