At a glance: The Partnership has adopted a blended working approach meaning you’ll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The Data team aims for around 1 day a week in the office to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings. The role could also be based at either our Bracknell or Victoria campus based on your preference. We are looking for candidates within the salary range of £60,000 - £70,000, depending on experience. This position is a permanent contract.
Responsibilities
- As a Data Governance Manager in the Data Management Profession, be the key contact for all decisions related to Partnership data in the areas or projects you are responsible for.
- Understand GDPR and other data related legislation to ensure the Partnership remains compliant, and support Data Owners in your domain to understand how to manage their data safely and securely.
- Develop a good understanding of your domain, including business processes, to ensure you understand how the data governance framework applies to that area and identify risks and challenges.
- Work with project teams to ensure the project meets business requirements for data governance and have a good understanding of how data is captured and processed within your domain.
- Act as a trusted advisor to Data Owners and Senior Leaders, being approachable and pragmatic to ensure that data risks are raised and dealt with quickly.
- Manage (People Management and Task Management) a team of Data Stewards and Data Management Analysts as required.
- Ensure a framework is in place to capture, profile, risk assess and prioritise remediation of Data Quality issues within the domain.
- Work with the Data Owner to prioritise data related activities within the domain, ensuring outcomes are delivered to agreed standards and timelines.
- Embed the data risk framework within your subject area and be responsible for reporting and resolution management of key data risks (including personal data).
- Ensure the Data Domain is appropriately resourced to carry out key activities and priorities.
Essential skills
- Understanding of data protection and information security legislation and how this relates to the business strategy.
- Expertise in data quality practices, approaches and challenges within large organisations.
- Experience of data management tools.
- Understanding of master data and data governance principles and processes.
- Experience of developing data processes and systems.
Desirable
- Retail, Finance, Financial Services Data Governance related experience.
- Membership of Data Management groups / communities.
- Data Management qualification.
- GDPR Practitioner level or equivalent.
- Business analysis or project management experience.
- Experience in delivering complex and/or large data projects as a data SME.
- Experience working with Data Owners.
