Job Description
  • Deep expertise in data governance, data quality, metadata management, profiling, analysis, and related data management tools.
  • Lead the implementation of data governance across Risk and Finance domains, ensuring alignment with BCBS239 regulatory standards.
  • Accountable for end-to-end ownership of data definition, lineage, and governance for prioritised use cases.
  • Oversee business data requirement changes, ensuring effective execution of change and release management across data domains.
  • Contribute to meeting regulatory obligations by establishing processes that ensure the delivery of accurate, complete, timely, and reliable data.
  • Partner with divisional stakeholders to develop and implement data standards and drive adoption across EMEA data initiatives.
  • Actively participate in data governance and program forums to strengthen the bank's enterprise-wide data governance framework.
  • Collaborate with business, compliance, technology, and other key functions to ensure data-related business requirements are well-defined and integrated into initiative planning and prioritization.
  • Support data quality investigations by developing remediation plans and recommending root cause fixes at source.
  • Maintain consistent engagement with teams to provide updates, monitor progress, and escalating risks or issues in a timely manner; recognized for building trust and credibility with stakeholders and sponsors.
The Successful Applicant
  • Strong expertise in data governance, data quality, data profiling, and analysis.
  • In-depth working knowledge of BCBS239 gained through experience in Tier 1 and Tier 2 banking environments.
  • Skilled in communicating effectively with senior management, including board-level stakeholders.
  • Proficient in interpreting complex data structures and performing advanced calculations across Risk and Finance functions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Risk and Finance data domains, along with knowledge of data governance principles, enterprise data management, and related regulatory requirements.
  • Able to approach challenges with a holistic, enterprise-wide perspective, avoiding siloed or department-centric thinking.
  • Analytical and solutions-oriented, with a proven track record of identifying issues, solving problems, and implementing effective solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and secure alignment across EMEA stakeholders.
  • Partners with business stakeholders to ensure timely issue resolution, escalating delays and blockers through appropriate governance channels.
  • Knowledgeable in physical, logical, and business data modeling concepts.
  • Experienced in business process modeling, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Holds a university degree or equivalent industry experience, preferably in a quantitative field.
  • Familiar with Collibra and other leading data governance tools.
