Salary : Up to £45,800 dependent on skills and experience

12-month Fixed Term Contract

Hybrid working (office based in Birmingham) – minimum 20% of the month in the office, currently 1-2 days per week

Your role

Are you passionate about driving data excellence and shaping the future of data strategy? Wesleyan is looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Data Governance Analyst to join our Data Centre of Excellence on a 12-month fixed term contract.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in our Data Excellence function, supporting transformation projects and contributing directly to the success of our wider Data Strategy. You’ll help ensure our data processes and infrastructure are aligned, secure, and compliant—supporting accuracy, privacy, and legislative standards across the business.

In this collaborative role, you’ll work closely with teams across the Data Centre of Excellence to help design and evolve our Data Governance framework and contribute to strategic development. If you’ve previously supported transformation or AI-related projects—or have a keen interest in these areas—this role offers a fantastic platform to build on that experience and make a meaningful impact.

What you’ll be doing

• Contribute to a wide range of impactful data initiatives, including Data Lineage, Data Governance, Data Quality, Management Reporting, and Master & Metadata Management—key enablers of business transformation.
• Serve as a trusted reference point for data governance and management, supporting strategic decision-making across the organisation.
• Collaborate with Data Quality, Data Engineering, and Data Analytics teams to shape and enhance our data and analytics platform—driving innovation and transformation.
• Work closely with the Data Quality, Data Engineering team and Data Analytics team in the development of our data and analytics platform
• Work with stakeholders to ensure data is fit for purpose, enabling accurate, timely, and insightful reporting that supports change initiatives.
• Continuously define and implement improvements to quality assurance processes, helping to build scalable, future-ready data capabilities.

We’re looking for

• Experience in a Data Governance Analyst role, or a process related Quality Assurance position
• Ability to design and implement Data governance related quality assurance ideally where tooling / automation is not mature
• Analysing and interpreting metrics to identify weaknesses in processes
• Able to produce and deliver Data Governance dashboards ideally PowerBI
• Understanding of programming principles, coding experience will be beneficial to the role (for example SQL, R, Python etc.)
