Job summary

PwC UK is seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead one or more teams in the Data Engineering group, delivering advanced data solutions for clients. You will combine hands-on delivery with leadership, shaping modern data engineering practices across healthcare, financial services and other industries.

You will operate from our Manchester or Birmingham offices, guiding cross-functional delivery and maintaining high data quality and performance.

Qualifications

Proven experience leading data engineering teams or workstreams.
Strong Python skills with experience in ML/AI workloads and related tools.
Experience with Apache Spark for large-scale data processing.
Experience developing APIs using FastAPI or similar technologies.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop data engineering teams to build reliable, scalable data solutions.
Provide technical direction for data pipelines, platforms and analytics infrastructure.
Contribute hands-on to design, development and troubleshooting, including code reviews.
Drive adoption of modern techniques, tools and patterns and support team growth.
Engage stakeholders across business and technology to set priorities and deliver value.
Ensure quality by overseeing development, deployment and validation of data solutions.
