A prominent conservation organization in Swindon seeks a Data Engineer to develop and maintain data pipelines that enhance decision-making. The ideal candidate should be experienced with dbt and Snowflake, have strong SQL skills, and be familiar with Python and data modelling principles. You’ll join a collaborative Agile delivery team within our IT function, working alongside analysts, BI developers, and business stakeholders across the organisation. We value creativity, learning, and impact. You’ll report to the Lead Data Engineer and be part of a team that’s passionate about using data to support the ongoing delivery of our strategy.Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40‑60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview. There is an expectation to work from our Swindon office two days a week.
You’ll design, build and maintain data pipelines using dbt and Snowflake, transforming raw data into trusted, reusable data products. You’ll work with star schema models to support reporting and analytics. You’ll collaborate with colleagues to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs. You’ll contribute to data governance, ensure data quality, and help improve how we manage and share data across the Trust.
