Job summary

Oh Polly is seeking a data engineer to join the Manchester tech team. You will build and maintain pipelines moving data from operational systems into Snowflake, and develop data models for reporting using Python services that connect Shopify, NetSuite, 3PL, returns, and PIM on AWS with Terraform.

You will work across SQL, Python, APIs and AWS, collaborating with Operations, Merchandising and Trading to translate requirements into reliable data solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• 3+ years of experience building data pipelines.
• Experience with a cloud data warehouse, ideally Snowflake.
• Experience consuming REST APIs and vendor API docs.
• Ability to translate unclear requirements into tech solutions.
• Experience with dbt for data transformation and modelling.
• Experience with AWS Lambda and Terraform.
• Power BI experience for analytics.
• Ecommerce data exposure (Shopify, ERP, WMS, 3PL).
• Familiarity with APIs and webhooks between SaaS platforms.
• Interest in AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain pipelines from third-party and operational systems into Snowflake.
• Develop integrations between systems using Python, AWS Lambda and Terraform.
• Design and maintain the transformation layer and data models for reporting.
• Collaborate with the data team on Snowflake structure and direction.
• Work with Operations, Merchandising and Trading to turn requirements into data solutions.
• Improve data consistency with definitions, validation and quality checks.
• Investigate data issues across sources and pipelines.
• Provide ad hoc analysis and quick business insights.
• Contribute to experiments with AI-assisted development in the data platform.
